SGM Hospital Comfort Team volunteers are the heart of SGM. Servant-hearts called to come alongside grieving mothers and fathers in their darkest moments to shine the light of hope and love in unlikely places. SGM Comfort Companions, SGM Comfort Doulas, and SGM Remembrance Photographers have the unique opportunity to stand on the sacred ground where heaven meets earth. There is no greater privilege than to serve as the hands and feet of Jesus, acting as a vessel of His love while a tiny life slips from this earth to heaven. Every life is matters, no matter how brief. Every life is worthy of both celebration and grief. The SGM Comfort Team is a demanding role, and we often refer to those who answer this special calling as “gladiators” for a reason. There is great sacrifice in the hours of love and dedication poured into being willing to leave the comfort of your home, family, and schedule to give of your time and heart to help change the story for a grieving family.
